Shield us!

Yahweh.

Thank you for this reassuring Psalm from David as he fled from his enemies - even his own son Absalom. What a heartbreak!

Many of us have had broken hearts. And only you know Lord. Whether from prodigal children or divorce or death or affliction.

Sometimes people and family have risen against us. Sometimes trouble comes and some would say there is no hope. So we lift our voice like David and cry out to you!

“But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah

I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬-‭6‬

Thank you Lord for your words of hope and life. Even in the midst of this turmoil in our nation and in the earth. Even when there are those who are against us. You still remain as our shield and the lifter of our heads! O Hallelujah!

What a mighty God you are.

What a glorious God you are.

What a faithful God you are.

What a sovereign God you are.

Thank you for who you are and for what you have done. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
