Father.
Give us peace. Not as the world gives. But the peace that Jesus left with us. The peace he gave to us. Thank you for this gift of peace. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Thank you for the peace that passes all understanding. Even in the midst of confusion and turmoil. You give us peace. We speak peace to parents and children. We speak peace to those with loved ones in nursing homes and assisted living. We speak peace to families and homes all across America.
Thank you for the peace that calms every storm. Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea. Peace, be still! And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?
Come and calm the storms around us. Calm the storms surrounding this election. It is a fierce battle! Speak peace to President Trump, Vice President Pence and the Administration. The winds of adversity continue to blow. The insanity around us continues full steam ahead. But we stop in your presence and call forth your peace into the midst of this storm.
Jesus. You told us. Do not let your hearts be troubled. In my Father’s house are many mansions. I am going to prepare a place for you that where I am you will be also. You said. These things I have spoken to you that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
What a promise! Oh Hallelujah! What a prince of peace. What a savior. What a redeemer. What a brother. What a King that he would call us friend and fight our battles! And utterly defeat every foe!
What more could we ask for. You turn our fear into faith. You have overcome the world and you have given us peace. Come and speak to the storm and speak to our hearts. Peace be still.
In Jesus name. Amen.
