Focus.

Father.

Help us to believe and think like Paul. You turned him around. You set his feet on the solid rock Christ Jesus. Do the same for us. If and when we stray. If and when we falter. If and when we fall. If and when we fear.

Help us to remember! You are what makes life worth living!

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

“But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.

“For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:21-23‬

Help us to remember! Jesus! You are the LORD! You are the King!

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,

“that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,

“and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:9-11‬

Help us to remember! We are not too hide. We are not to despair. We are not to walk in the darkness. We are to shine like lights!

“Do all things without complaining and disputing,

“that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:14-15‬

Help us to remember! We must press toward the goal of Christ!

“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

“if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:10-14‬

Help is to remember to REJOICE!

“Rejoice in the LORD always. Again I will say, rejoice!

“Let your gentleness be known to all men. The LORD is at hand.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

“and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:4-7‬

So Father. Amidst it all. Amidst wars and famines and plagues. We look to you and you alone. We lift all these things up to you. Sometimes they are too many to number and remember.

But we know that you, O Holy One, are in control. You are not surprised. You are not caught off guard.

Help us to to remember to focus. To fix our eyes, our hearts, our minds and our thoughts on you, Jesus.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

“The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:8-9‬

We are thankful for your peace in the midst of the storm.

We are thankful for your goodness and your grace.

We stand in the gap today and make our petitions known to you. We ask for healing for the Nations. We ask for protection from the evil one and to thwart the plans of the enemy who seeks to destroy and devour.

We ask for your mercy. We ask you to be merciful to the people - the men, the women, the babies and the children - of America and the Nations.

In Jesus name.

Amen.
