“Jesus said, “ I AM. And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
“Then the high priest tore his clothing to show his horror and said, “Why do we need other witnesses? You have all heard his blasphemy. What is your verdict?” “GUILTY!” they all cried. “HE DESERVES TO DIE!”
Then some of them began to spit at him, and they blindfolded him and beat him with their fists. “Prophesy to us,” they jeered. And the guards slapped him as they took him away.” Mark 14:62-65
My words cannot express the gratitude for my Saviour. He has changed me. He has redeemed me. He has set me free. He has set my feet to dancing. He has set us in heavenly places where we forever will reign with the LORD. He is our King. He is righteous and He is holy. He is worthy!
On this Good Friday, we worship you O Holy One for your sacrifice and for the gift of your life.
“Very early in the morning the leading priests, the elders, and the teachers of religious law - the entire high council - met to discuss their next step. They bound Jesus, led him away, and took him to Pilate, the Roman governor. Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” Jesus replied, “You have said it.” ...
“It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him. A sign announced the charge against him. It read, “The King of the Jews.” ...
“At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. Then at three o’clock Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” ...
Then Jesus uttered another loud cry and breathed his last. And the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. When the Roman officer who stood facing him saw how he had died, he exclaimed, “This man truly was the Son of God!” Mark 15
Oh yes! Truly! Jesus IS the Son of God. We remember his words to his disciples that he would rise again on the third day. All hope was not lost if his followers THEN trusted his life giving and life changing words. All hope is not lost if we, his followers NOW, still trust those same life giving and life changing words.
He came to seek and save that which was lost. He came to give abundant life. He came to turn the water into wine. He came to heal the sick. He came to raise the dead. He came to set the sinner and the captive free!
All WAS not lost on that Good Friday so long ago. All IS not lost on this Good Friday in 2021. Oh no no no!
Jesus would say! To us his faithful followers in America, Israel and the Nations of the earth! Do not lose hope! Do not despair! Do not be afraid! Lo! I AM with you always even unto the ends of the earth!
Jesus would say! IT’S NOT OVER YET! I AM!
